Wireless summary

In summary, the security mechanisms available in today’s short-range wireless
networks are insecure, incomplete, and difficult to manage within an enterprise
environment. Various “band-aids” are being used to address these concerns, but
each of these falls short in terms of security, scalability, flexibility, or cost.
Enterprise wireless LANs require a security solution designed and engineered to
deliver authentication, access control, and privacy services. The solution must be
easy to manage, easy to use, flexible enough to adapt to changing needs, and ready
to integrate with existing IT infrastructure.
